Whilst many expatriate home buyers head for the new estates in Paphos or Paralimni, there are those discerning buyers who want value for money and a little more of the Cyprus experience that is to be found in the many traditional villages on the island.

Most of the villages offer a more relaxed pace of life alongside the genuinely warm and hospitable country folk and yet you are never far from one of the major towns for serious shopping/entertainment and never very far from the Mediterranean sea .

Most villages have their own Cooperative Bank, supermarket and tavernas, with the larger ones having schools, more extensive shopping, medical facilities and an existing expatriate population.

Generally speaking, houses in the village areas are cheaper, with many having larger gardens as well as good views and lower local taxes.
